Attending inVoyage Bangkok for the first time with the Australian and New Zealand delegation was a genuine reminder that not all industry events need to follow the same script.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this experience had been thoughtfully designed. Every detail felt considered. Rather than a traditional trade show floor, inVoyage created a more intimate and curated environment where meaningful meetings could happen naturally. The exhibitors weren’t there to simply be seen. They were there to connect, share their stories, and build real relationships.
The one-on-one meetings had all the energy you hope for at an event like this. There was a real buzz in the room. New introductions, familiar faces reconnecting, ideas being shared, and partnerships beginning. It felt exciting, productive, and refreshingly human.
What stood out most was how the relationship-building extended beyond the meeting schedule. The welcome reception at The Peninsula Bangkok, the showcase cocktail event at SEEN, and the farewell celebration at Four Seasons Bangkok (I’m still dreaming of that ceviche) each added another layer to the experience. These moments created space for conversations to continue more organically, with suppliers and buyers connecting as people first, not just business cards across a table.
Another highlight was the local immersion element, which felt almost like a mini famil. I joined a bike ride through the back streets of Bangkok, weaving through alleyways, crossing the river, exploring Chinatown, and stopping for fresh coconut water and pineapple along the way. It was such a fun way to experience the destination while sharing time with industry peers in a completely different setting.
What also became clear over the three days was the value this format creates for suppliers. Instead of one quick 15 to 30 minute appointment, they had meaningful time with a hand-selected group of clients from around the world. Time to build familiarity, demonstrate their point of difference, and show their passion for our industry in a much deeper way.
For buyers, advisors, and decision-makers who value genuine partnerships, fresh product discovery, and high-quality conversations over high-volume noise, this is the kind of event worth paying attention to. For suppliers who want to invest in relationships rather than quick transactions, it is an equally valuable platform.
A sincere thank you to the inVoyage team for delivering such a seamless and thoughtful experience, to Destination Asia for their usual outstanding local support, and to The Peninsula Bangkok for a comfortable stay.
InVoyage Comporta is already at capacity, which says plenty in itself. I’ll be watching with interest to see where inVoyage heads in 2027.
PillowMINT is proud to be the event partner for inVoyage providing opportunities for the A/NZ incentive market to attend so If future inVoyage events are on your radar, I’d strongly recommend reaching out to Katelyn or myself to register your interest early.
